Happy Hens Farm is a small-scale working farm and is home to a range of poultry and livestock, including chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, goats and cows. Plus we have our resident llama, Hans, and our team of livestock guardian dogs and herding/ranch boss dog, Jack.
All animals are raised on pasture in a stress-free environment as possible. I believe in an integrated "barnyard community." The farm animals — the chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, goats, cows, dogs and llama — are allowed to live and roam together. Because of this commingling, it's easier to appreciate the farm as a whole, vital, living organism as the animals display their natural behaviors, bonded relationships and their mutual interdependence with one another.
The farm is in the process of organic certification.
